‘Bird on a wire’ my latest, is a unframed piece, acrylic on canvas, 58cm x 88cm. I will be submitting this one for display in the upcoming Members Let’s celebrate the New Year Exhibition at the Emu Park Art Gallery which will open on February the 5th
As previously mentioned, I have always loved the music of Leonard Cohen. Years spent sitting around the record player listening to Cohen on vinyl LPs rotating at 33rpm.
In November 2024 I decided that I was going to attempt to do a series of Cohen art pieces using some of his brilliant song lyrics as my inspiration. This piece is the 2nd work I have created for my Cohen Series inspired from one of Cohens best known songs, Bird on a Wire.
Regarding my ‘Cohen Series’ I have set myself no time limit for completion or how many art pieces involved. It will be a work in progress and one I look forward to doing into the future.
My first piece in the ‘my’Cohen Series was one titled ‘I told you when I came I was a Stranger’ from The Stranger Song.
