THE OPEN TRY LINE- BUSH FOOTY – PARKIE STYLE – Artist Jeff Quigley.

‘The Open Try Line – Bush Footy – Parkie Style’ is a large unframed piece, acrylic on canvas, 122cm x 92cm, again one of the biggest and most complex paintings I have undertaken. I have had this idea floating around in my head for some time.

I just love my “bush” footy and took great joy in putting this celebratory piece together as the Local Emu Park side won their first ever A-Grade Mens premiership this August. The long wait was now over after 32 years.

This piece depicts my joy of attending a local match surrounded by good friends and some keen family members, all watching as the Emus conjure up another four pointer.

‘The Open Try Line – Bush Footy – Parkie Style’ will be displayed in the upcoming Members Exhibition at the Emu Park Art Gallery which will open on December the 4th.

If you have not visited the Local Emu Park Gallery and Gift Shop then I highly recommend that you do so. Admission is FREE and the Gallery is open from Wednesday to Sunday 10am to 4pm

Getting stuck into the job with only a week or so to go to meet the deadline. I made it by a day.
The main original sketch concept – my starting point.
